Alfred "Honey Boy" Provost, Jr.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating the life of Alfred Provost, Jr. will be held Saturday, July 20, 2024 10:00 AM at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Jeanerette, LA. Fr. Francis Damoah, Celebrant.

Visitation will be Saturday, July 20, 2024, 8:00 AM until the commencement of the mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church, Jeanerette, LA

Mr. Provost will be interred in Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church Cemetery.

Afred Provost Jr. or "Honey Boy" as he was affectionately known passed away July 16, 2024 after a brief illness.  He was born on October 21, 1931 in Jeanerette, LA to the late Alfred and Gertrude Provost.  He was the second child of four children.

He worked in construction for many years and then later worked along side his brothers driving bulldozers, cane cutters, and front end loaders for Provost Brothers Farm.  Honey Boy was an exceptional welder and would construct trailers, BBQ pits, and swings.  In his spare time, he enjoyed playing poker and going to the casino.

Honey Boy was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Gertrude;  his brother,  Raymond Provost Sr; his only sister, Dorothy Provost Lofton; and two sons, Alonzo and Russell.

Honey Boy leaves  behind to cherish his memories:  his faithful son, Daffy; Ashley and her children; his brother Cleveland; and a host of nieces, nephews, special cousins, relatives, and friends.
