A Celebration of Life for Mr. Alfred Percy Key, Sr. will be Saturday, September, 24, 2016, 11:00 AM, at First Good Hope Baptist Church, Jeanerette, LA. Apostle Alvin Davis will officiate the service.
Mr. Key will be interred in the Elijah Merritte Eternal Rest Cemetery, Jeanerette, LA. He will be buried with full Military Honors.
Visitation will be observed Saturday, September 24, 2016, from 9:00 AM until the time of service at First Good Hope Baptist Church.
Alfred Percy Key, Sr., the last child of the late, Junius Key and Gracey Conner Key was born on June 21, 1922, in Jeanerette, LA.
Alfred was a member of St. Peter United Methodist Church. He was self-employed. Mr. Key was US Army Veteran and a member of American Legion Post 549, Jeanerette, LA.
Left to cherish his life in memory is his devoted wife of 41 years, Sylvina W. Key, Jeanerette, LA; five sons, Alfred Percy Key, Jr. (Janice), Marcell J. Key (Charmaine), Roland (Loretha) Lorybort (Penny), all of Jeanerette, LA; four daughters, Cheryl, St. Martinville, LA, Myrna, Georgia, Melinda (David), all of Jeanerette, LA. He also leaves behind 67 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, seven great-great grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, Deloris (James), Jeanerette, LA, Beverly, New Iberia, LA, Margie (Hayden) Houston, TX, Carolyn, California, Loretta, Tennessee; three brothers-in-law, Stanley (Ethel), Baldwin, LA, Terry Lee (Lorraine) Deridder, LA, Johnny (Mary) New Iberia, LA; one special cousin, Doris Key; one Godchild, Michelle Lewis, Jeanerette, LA; and a host of relatives and friends who realize that earth has no sorrow that heaven cannot heal.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by one daughter, Gail Jackson as well as her husband Ronald Jackson and his brother Bernard Junius Key.
