Barbara Jean Matthews

A Celebration of Life (By Invitation Only) for Barbara Jean Matthews will be held Saturday, May 30, 2020, 1:00 PM at MK Dixon Funeral Home. Rev. David Jones will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 30, 2020 from 12:00 PM until the commencement of the funeral service at MK Dixon Funeral Home.

Ms. Matthews will be buried in St. John Baptist Church Cemetery, Four Corners, LA.

Barbara Jean Matthews was born in Franklin La. To Robert Matthews and Lula Matthews Phillip, she thanks the Lord daily for being the strength of her life. Given him praise always for the life she had and the children she was given. She lived a blessed and prosperous life leaving those behind on May 25, 2020, would be her only regrets.

She was a loving and faithful member of St. John Baptist Church, Four Corners La.  She will be missed by her Sunday school members. She always had a heart for the loss of this world.  We are not given much time to do God's will, it's best if we be about our Father's business and attending to his sheep.

All the little children, big and small, she loved because she treated them as her own.  She will forever remain the hearts of her children she leaves behind:  Wilbur Lockett, son, Karen Doucet, Daughter, Chavers Lockett, son.  She has a great number of Grand Children, by birth in the family and by adoption, she has seven great grandchildren, her other sisters, Loraine Matthews, Caterline Matthews, Selma Matthews, and Stephanie Matthews.  Also, her other Brother Robert Matthews Jr.  A number of Nieces and Nephews, with a great number of cousins, family and friends too many in numbers to count.

: Barbara was preceded in death by her parents:  Robert Matthews, Fredrick, Sr. and Lula Philips, sister, Lucille Smith, Amy Jackson, and Brother Eugene Matthews, Daughter Cynthia Walker.  Sister-in-law, Eraine Matthews, and Brother-in-law Willie Jack and Willie Smith Jr.
