A Memorial Visitation for Brandon Schexnayder will be held Saturday, December 11, 2021 from 11:00 A.M.- 1:00 P.M. at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, Louisiana. Mask will be required.
A Private service will be held for Brandon Schexnayder.
Brandon Lamark Schexnayder, a native of Baldwin, LA, and a resident of Alexandria, LA was born on July 30, 1976.
Brandon was baptized at an early age at Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin,LA under the leadership of Rev.C.E.Batiste. He later fellowshipped at Park Avenue Church of Christ in Franklin, LA under the leadership of Pastor Cornelius Lewis.
After receiving his GED, he obtained several trainings, certifications, and degrees. The two he was most proud of was in culinary arts and welding where he achieved the honor of being on the Dean's List at South LA Community College (SLCC). He loved cooking and being a welder. He also enjoyed working on his physique, along with reading to build his mind. He was full of knowledge, and he always sought more wisdom. Brandon's charisma, charm, and affectionate smile would light a room with happiness and joy. Brandon was full of love, laughter, and lived life to the fullest and he never met a stranger. He was a good man. The community of Baldwin will not be the same without Brandon, aka "Bad Mike" or "Meat", as his dad would call him. He truly left his mark in the lives of everyone who knew and loved him. Brandon will be forever loved and remembered.
Brandon married his Jr. High sweetheart, Shelly, and they remained together for 30 years, married for 9 years until his untimely transition. From this union they had a handsome son, Devon. Brandon loved and adored them both.
He leaves to mourn his wife, Shelly C. Schexnayder of Alexandria, LA; his son; Devin Mekhi Schexnayder; his father, Milton "Nay" Schexnayder, Sr. of Patterson, LA; three sisters, Alziner L. Johnson of Orange, TX; Telfare (Steve) Gibson and Ericka (Claude) Willis, both of Franklin, LA; six brothers, Joseph Youman of Baldwin, LA; Telpher (Noweena) Youman of Sunset, LA; Gene Grogan of Dallas, TX; Milton "Nay" (Christy) Schexnayder, Jr. of Franklin, LA; Jason(Lamonika) Dwyer of Charenton, LA and Brad (Lakisha) Vincent of New Iberia, LA.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Dorothy Babino Youman; maternal grandparents, Emily and Henry Babino; paternal grandparents, Lola Mae and Randolph Schexnayder; godparents, Cressie and Sonny Jennings; aunts, Elizabeth Pete, Beulah James, Ulla Guy; and an uncle, Calvin Pete, Sr.
