A Celebration of Life for Chad Harris, will be held Saturday, August 26, 2023, at 1:00 P.M. at St. Moses Baptist Church in Jeanerette, La.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 26, 2023, from 11:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at St. Moses Baptist Church in Jeanerette, La.
Chad will be interred at Special Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Baldwin, La.
Chad De'Juan Harris, 42, a resident of Baldwin, LA, was born on October 23, 1980 to Rose Harris and Dudley Williams, Sr. He transitioned from labor to reward at 10:13 PM on Sunday, August 20, 2023, at Bayou Bend Medical Center.
He accepted the Lord as his Savior and was baptized at an early age by Rev. W.J. Otis at Special Providence Baptist Church. He attended St. Mary Parish Schools and was a 1998 Franklin Senior High School Graduate. He also attended Young Memorial Technical School where he pursued his welding career. He was united in Holy Matrimony on September 6, 2003 to Treshell Boyer, and to that union two daughters were born.
"Fatt Katt", as Chad was affectionately known, was a well-known person in the Baldwin Community, who had a love for dogs, sports, buying hats, clothes and shoes to look his very best. Chad had the intellect of a college professor. He could sit at the table with Barack Obama. He loved his family, especially his wife, his mother, his brothers, his children and grandchildren.

Harris of New Iberia, LA; his mother, Rose Harris James of Baldwin, LA; his father, Dudley Williams, Sr. (Kimberly) of Baton Rouge, LA; his brothers, Jason Gibson of Baldwin, LA and Dudley Williams, Jr. of C; one son, Khyri Harris of Ruston, LA; three daughters, Camryn Harris of New Iberia, LA, Chazman Harris of Ruston, LA; and Treshay Rodriguez, also of New Iberia, LA; two grandchildren, Luxuri Rodriguez and Kylen Harris; one godchild, Rilei Lockett; grandmothers, Delores J. Gibson of Houston, TX and Alma T. Williams of Baton Rouge, LA; uncles, Warren Harris (Pamela) of Lake Charles, LA; Lawrence Harris (Collette) of Abbeville, LA; Patrick Harris (LaTasha) of Broussard, LA; aunts, Francine Bridget of Houston, TX; Delores Y. Gibson and Cynthia Gibson Smith (Reginald), both of Houston TX; nieces, Rilei Lockett, Raelie Castillo, and Khali Gibson; nephews, Jaydon Dunn and Jace Gibson; godmother, Pauline Clark Brown; godfather, James Brown; god sisters, Erica Haisley, Jamisha B. Butler, and Jemere Brown; special cousin, Rhonda Phillips; special friends, Sherika Yarber and Kenneth Connor, all of Baldwin, LA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Eldridge J. Gibson; fathers, Eldridge J. Gibson, Jr. and Milton C. James; grandmother, Mary James; great grandmother, Harriet F. James; grandfathers, Lawrence Harris, Sr. and Eldridge Gibson, Sr.; and paternal grandparents; Rev. John and Marina Harris, Sr.
