A Celebration of Life for Chester Akelbulan (Charles), will be held Saturday, June 27, 2026, at 11:00 AM at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.

Chester transitioned on Saturday, June 13, 2026, at his home in Deluth, GA.

Chester was born on November 6, 1954, to Chester Charles and Ruby August Charles. Charles grew up and was raised in Glencoe, LA. He attended school in St. Mary Parish at Thomas Gibbs Elementary and Franklin High School.

After graduation High School, Chester joined the United States Army. He traveled around the United States and abroad while serving his country. After serving 22 years, Chester retired in Phoenix City, AL and married Deborah Charles.

After leaving Alabama, Chester moved to Georgia, living in East Point, GA and Deluth, GA where he passed.

He has been practicing the Muslim faith for many years.

Chester leaves to cherish his memories, his nieces, Linda Colbert of Four Corners, LA, Charlene (Harold) Colbert of Baldwin, LA, Crystal Breaux of Lafayette, LA, and Debra Charles of Washington D. C.; nephews, Anthony (Tina) Colbert of Glencoe, LA, Kevin Colbert of Four Corners, LA, Brian Breaux, Jason Breaux, Melvin Breaux of Lafayette, LA, Elton Charles, Jr., Patrick Charles, Derrick Charles, of Houston, TX and David Williams, of TX.

Chester wad preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Ruby Charles; sisters, Shirley Colbert, Octavia Williams, Ruby Breaux; brothers, Elton Charles, Sr., Robert Earl Charles; brothers-in-law, Albert Colbert, Jr., Stephen Breaux; nephews, Gregory Colbert, and Joseph Colbert, Sr.
