Clarence Chapman, Sr.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 2, 2021, from 10:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home.

Clarence will be interred at New Salem Cemetery in Patterson, Louisiana.

Clarence Nathanial "Nac" Chapman Sr. was born August 27, 1943 in Patterson Louisiana, to Nathan Chapman Jr. and Barbara Pratt Chapman. He was one of the five children born to this union. He was a native and resident of Patterson Louisiana until his health began to compromise and became a resident of Baton Rouge Louisiana.

Clarence Chapman Sr. married to Evelyn Johnson Chapman and was a devoted husband of 56 years.

Clarence attended Hattie A. Watts School (K-12) and Grambling State University. He was employed by Aucoin Cleaners formerly known as Morella Cleaners.

After 78 earthly years, Mr. Chapman answered the Master's call and departed this life at 2:53 A.M. on Thursday September 23, 2021, at Ochsner Baton Rouge surrounded by his family.

Among those left to cherish Clarence's memory is his wife of 56 years Evelyn Johnson Chapman of Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Five daughters Barbara Chapman and Tammy (Sandford) Benjamin of Patterson, LA, Mary Chapman Wilson (Nathanial) of Baton Rouge, LA, Cherilyn (Gerald) Thomas of Patterson, LA and Cathy (Ernest) Dejean of New Iberia, LA. Four sisters Barbara Granger (Harold) of Morgan City, LA., Carolyn Edwards of Patterson, LA., Lucy "Faye" Thomas of Morgan City, LA., and Vera Singleton (Lionel) of Morgan City, LA. His in – laws Lucille Conley of Patterson, LA and Wardell (Louise)Johnson of Patterson, LA; 13 Grandchildren; 20 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren; A devoted and faithful son in law Nathanial Wilson, Jr. of Baton Rouge, LA; devoted niece Alaina Johnson/Caregiver and a dedicated great-grandson Quavonte Verdun.

His final journey unites him with his parents Nathan Chapman Jr. and Barbara Pratt Chapman, his son Clarence Chapman Jr., a daughter Katina Chapman, one sister-n-law, two brother-n-laws, one grandchildren, one great grandchild, and one great great grandchild.
