A Celebration of Life for Cleveland Jackson, Sr., will be held Saturday, March 22, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Moses Baptist Church in Jeanerette, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 22, 2025, from 9:00 AM until the commencement of the celebration at St. Moses Baptist Church in Jeanerette, LA.

Cleveland will be interred at Sorrel Cemetery in Sorrel, LA.

Cleveland Jackson, Sr. was born in Sorrell, LA, on August 6, 1940, to Leroy and Cora  Jackson. On Wednesday, March 12, 2025, he moved from the labors of this world to eternal rest. He accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age at St. Moses Baptist Church. He attended school in St. Mary Parish.

Cleveland married Amy Matthews in 1960 and to this union were born three children. Cleveland was a faithful servant who loved to sing with the male chorus and senior choir at St. Moses. He worked at Morton Salt for several years and eventually became a farmer. He worked hard as a sugarcane farmer to help support those he loved. He drove school buses for over thirty years for St. Mary Parish. He also served on the drainage board for St. Mary Parish. His favorite pastime was watching Steve Harvey on "Family Feud."

He was preceded in death by his wife Amy Jackson; parents, the late Leroy Jackson,Sr. and Cora Jackson; siblings, Talmadge Jackson, Benard Jackson, Leroy Jackson, Jr., Melvin Jackson, Earnest Jackson Sr., Nora Mae Jackson, Joyce August, Mary Louise Jackson, and Betty Ann Thomas.

Left behind to cherish the memories shared are his covenant children, Arleen (Lionel) Lockette, Beverly (Leroy Sr.) Smith and Cleveland, Jr. (Alkinee) Jackson, and other sons and daughters. He also leaves cherished memories to his siblings, Ida Mae Swan, and Blanche Charles; aunt, Doretha Wilson; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two adopted sons, caregiver, Carl "Blip" Stewart and Evangelist Donald Grimm; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
