Clifford James Andrus, affectionately known as "Pop" by his family, transitioned peacefully from this life to the next on Monday, September 1st, 2025, surrounded by family. Clifford was born to the union of the late Ulyses Andrus, Sr. and Juella Wilson Andrus on July 19, 1941.

Clifford graduated from H.C. Ross High School in 1959 and studied at Southern University, where he earned his Bachelors (1964) and Masters (1970), both in Education. He was married to the love of his life, the late Mary Lou Landry-Andrus, in a beautiful union that lasted for over 50 years and to this union three children were born; Natalie, Kendell, and Thaddeus. Clifford was an educator for the Acadia Parish School System. He was a teacher at Crowley High and moved on to teach Special Education as a Pupil Appraisal Assessment Teacher. He retired working for The Acadia Parish School Board as a Crisis Interventionist. He also served with The Council On Aging. Clifford was a life long member of The New Hope Missionary Baptist Church in Mermentau, Louisiana, where he also served as a deacon. He was active in many social and civic organizations, including Ross High Alumni and Vermilion Community Action Program.

Clifford was quiet and observant. When he spoke, everyone knew his words would greatly matter. He provided loving guidance to his children and grandchildren and cautioned them to "don't take no wooden nickels".  He had a special relationship with his three oldest grandchildren, serving as a guiding and nurturing father figure, for which they are forever grateful. He was a pillar in the Crowley community for many years. Out of all of his lifetime accomplishments, his favorite roles were husband, father and grandfather.

Clifford leaves to cherish his wonderful memories, his brother, Joseph Andrus; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Andrus Wilson, and Martha Andrus; one daughter, Natalie Andrus; two sons, Kendell (Kate) Andrus, and Pastor Thaddeus (Keyandra) Andrus; grandchildren, Ariana (Chris) Williams-Igwonobe, Nicholas Johnson, Cameron Andrus, Ella Andrus, Zoe Andrus, Mia Andrus; two great-grandchildren, Eryn Williams-Igwonobe and Evan Williams-Igwonobe.

He was preceded in death by his parents Ulyses Andrus, Sr., and Juella Wilson Andrus; loving wife, Mary Andrus; two sisters, Betty Andrus and Bobbie Andrus; five brothers, Willis Andrus, Anthony Andrus, Ulyses Andrus, Jr., Joshua Andrus, and James Bertrand Andrus; one step-sister, Ethel Andrus; two sisters-in-law, Lois Andrus and Tobi Andrus; one great-grandchild, Christian Williams-Igwonobe.
