Funeral Services for Ms. Cora Stewart will be Saturday, October 29, 2016, 1:00 PM, at MK DIXON Funeral Home, 211 Main Street, Baldwin, LA. Rev. Willie Jackson will officiate the service.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 29, 2016, 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at MK DIXON Funeral Home.
She will be buried in St. Helens Cemetery, Glencoe, LA
Cora Mae "Grandma" Stewart was born on June 23, 1939, to the late William and Virginia Stewart. She was baptized at an early age. She attended St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Glencoe, LA.
She entered into eternal rest on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at the Franklin Health Care Center, Franklin, LA. Cora leaves to cherish her memories: her children, one son, Carl Stewart, and two daughters, Angele S. Kiel and Chantelle Stewart, all of Glencoe, LA; a granddaughter she raised as her own, Carlena (Jason) Delasbair of Baldwin, LA; one brother, Mr. Oscar Stewart, Sr.; her grandchildren, Celina Charles, Yvonne Charles, Tyronn Charles, Ja'Kerra Segura, Jerwone Kiel, La'Kirra Kiel, Arianna Lewis, Duante Charles, Ty'Ryun Charles, Laila Charles, Jayson Delasbair, Javian Delasbair, and Kelby Jackson; ten great-grandchildren; two great-nephews whom she raised, J'Warski and J'Korde Jack; five godchildren, David Maxie, Gail Lancelin, Virginia Jack, Leonard Stewart and Bridget Marks; two dear friends, Gilda and Hester Jones; one sister-in-law, Bernadette Stewart; one brother-in-law, Joseph Yancy, Sr.; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, William Stewart and Virginia Taylor Stewart; one son, Kenneth Stewart; four sisters, Mary Louise Jack, Marion Yancy, Edna Mae Stewart, and Janice Stewart; one brother, Henry Stewart; one sister-in-law, Rose Stewart; and one aunt, Nancy Jack.
