Craig Steven Willis was born on August 4, 1960 in Lafayette, Louisiana at Lafayette Charity Hospital weighting only four pounds. Craig grew up in the Woodlawn, Texas area and went on to attend McCollum High School. His early years was spent in the Woodlawn and his love of horses, trail rides, and country life kept him in Texas throughout most of his adult life.

Craig had a deep love for family and friends. There was many who strive for fame and fortune, but Craig choose a life of a cowboy. You would always see "Cowboy" with a hat, starched jeans/shirts and boots. He loved to do his best and encouraged his family to do theirs as well.
He moved to Louisiana almost three years to be with his family, where his sister LaTrail and her husband Mike was his devoted caregivers, until his health began to fail more.

He had his own landscaping business and was a jack of all trades. If it was about making money, he was all in for it. He also loved pretty women, eating country food, casinos and playing the lottery. Craig visited many churches during his Christian walk. He attended Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas for a while, and was a member of Unity One Baptist Church, of Centerville, Louisiana and attended until his health began to fail.

Craig leaves to mourn his memory his two daughters, Dominique Godley and Morgan Willis, both of Houston Texas; three grandchildren, Ta'Leah Atkinson, Tavion Atkinson and Tomiyah Godley all of Houston Texas; parents, Charles and Sherry Carter-Henderson of Charenton, Louisiana; six sisters, LaTonga Carter-Williams (Elliott) of Selma, Texas, Trina Sanders (Darryl) of Port Allen, Louisiana, LaTrail Carter- Tillman (Michael) of Baldwin, Louisiana, Lyn Henderson of Ovilla, Texas, Vida Henderson of Seattle, Washington, Demetria Henderson of Cunningham, Virginia; three brothers, Pastor Tonious Carter of Lafayette, Louisiana, Troy Carter (Charity) of Houston, Texas and Terreance "Tee" Carter (TaSheika) of New Iberia, Louisiana; two aunts, Roslyn Phillips and Guen Carter; one uncle, Jerial Carter; two longtime friends, Eddie Pierson of Woodland, Texas, and Norris Price of Willis, Texas; a host of other nephews, nieces, relatives, and friends he spent time with.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, James and Emily Carter; one nephew, two aunts, two uncles, a special great aunt, and uncle of Conroe, Texas, that help raise him and other family members and friends.
