A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, July 25, 2020, 9:30 AM at Paradise Baptist Church, Beaumont, TX, Dr. Edison Colbert ,Pastor, Dr. Katie Steward-Perkins, Officiating.(Mask will be required for entry)
Visitation will be Saturday, July 25, 2020 from 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM, at Paradise Baptist Church. (Mask will be required for entry)
He will be interred in Live Oak Memorial Park.
Curtis was born to the late Dorothy and Curtis Steward Sr. on July 8, 1958. He was also predeceased by one brother, Quentin, one sister, Lori Colbert – Francis, one son, Curtis III, and one granddaughter, Aaliyah.
He accepted Christ as his personal Savior. He was baptized at Sunlight Baptist Church under the late Pastor G.W. Daniels.
Curtis was known as Nootsy or Noot to everyone. To know him was to love him. He graduated from South Park High School in 1977. Shortly thereafter, he moved to Glencoe, LA. He lived there many years before moving to Houston where he met his wife Debra in the summer of 1987 and a union was formed in December of 1991. Through thick and thin they remained one for 29 years.
Nootsy leaves to mourn, his wife: Debra, three daughters: Sheree (Calvin), Sylviaine (Chris), Brizzick (Eric), five sons: Jason, DeAundra, Anthony (Tinji), Warren (Diane), and Ricky. His father: Curtis Steward Sr., one brother: Calvin, one sister: Carolyn (Carl).
He also leaves 33 grandchildren; aunts: Cleotha Hines of Baldwin, LA, Dorothy Dorsey of Jeanerette, LA, and Audrey Steward of Beaumont, TX; uncles: Murray Dorsey of Jeanerette, LA, Henry Steward of Beaumont, TX, and Rev. Isiah Perro of Jeanerette, LA; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
