A Celebration of Life for Curtis Brooks, Sr., will be held Saturday, January 11, 2025, at 1:00 PM at Broussard-Harris Recreation Center in Franklin, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday, January 11, 2025, from 11:00 AM until the commencement of the celebration at Broussard-Harris Recreation Center in Franklin, LA.

Curtis will be interred at Franklin Cemetery in Franklin, LA.

Curtis Brooks, Sr. a resident of Franklin,LA, was born on January 12, 1955, to the late Lionel and Edna Brooks. Curtis was the second oldest of nine children. He was called to eternal rest on December 28, 2024.

Curtis attended schools in Franklin, LA and later attended Job Corps in Texas, where he obtained trades in welding and carpentry. He worked for many years offshore, welding and rigging.

He never met an enemv with his charisma and charming smile being his personal attributes. He had a way with words primarily "Ok baby, Honey, Wow, and Ok, G'." He had a passion for money and loved gambling. You could always catch him at Cypress Bayou, playing football cards, or going to bingo. Curtis definitely lived his life without any regrets. He also traveled the world freely.

Curtis leaves to cherish his memory, his beloved wife of 47 years, Delores Brooks of Manvel, TX; 17 children, Chantell Brooks of Manvel, TX, Curtis (Cassandra) Brooks Jr., Shawn Brooks, Avery Brooks, Kenyon (Wanda) Brooks, Rivion Brooks, and Lamar Wynn all of Kennewick, WA, Sharon (Romel) Seymore and Sherrell Small of Houston, TX, Karen Brooks, Sharita (Johnell McDaniel Jr.) Brooks, Patricia (McCloures) Manuel, Jonathon Small, Kenneth (Paris Henyard) and Bobby Bolden all of Franklin, LA, Kometrius Woods of Houston, TX and Kennesha Woods of Arkansas. But if you asked Curtis he would say that he has fathered 27 children; siblings, Linda (Charlie) Williams, Sr., Katherine Mack, Sandra Mack, Barbara Mack and Brenda Mack-Cross all of Franklin, LA, Keith (Cantina) Mack of Arlington, TX, Patricia Brooks and Chermaine Brooks of Los Angeles, CA; 86 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; one uncle, Robert (Brenda) Foster, Sr. of Franklin, LA; one aunt, Adell Williams of Orange, TX; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, family, and friends; Special people to him were Edward Pickett, Frank Lewis, and Anthony "Tiger" Bourda.

He is preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Edward Brooks, Sr. and Lionel Brooks Sr.; two sisters, Cheryl Brooks Dugas, and Sharon Brooks; grandparents, Eddie and Valinda Lee; two grandchildren, Alyssa Brooks and Morah Joi Small; Godmother, Aunt Beatrice Williams; great niece, Ja'Zalah Robinson.
