Da'Lyn Josef-Nathan Bell, affectionately known as "Dae Dae" by his loved ones, departed this Earthly life on May 6, 2025, at the young age of 20. Though his time with us was brief, his light shone brightly and left a lasting impact on all who knew him.
Born on March 28, 2005, to Kizzie Bell and Barry Druilhet, Jr., Da'Lyn was the third oldest child of his mother and the sixth child to his father (Six Babi). From the very beginning, he brought joy and laughter into the lives of those around him. With a smile that could light up any room and a quick-witted humor that could lift any spirit, Da'Lyn made lasting memories everywhere he went.
From an early age, he developed a deep passion for sports. He began playing both football and basketball as a young child, participating in the pee wee football program. However, basketball quickly became his true love. At just nine years old, he played with the Centerville All Stars and many other youth teams during summers and throughout school. There were many coaches that help lead Dalyn has a basketball player. He later joined the Flight Ballers, where he was mentored by Coach Edwin Colbert. With the Flight Ballers, Da'Lyn traveled across the country, growing in skill and character as he pursued his passion.
A proud graduate of Franklin Senior High School, Class of 2023, Da'Lyn was a standout athlete who played both football and basketball all four years. His talent, determination, and sportsmanship earned him numerous accolades, especially for his defensive skills and competitive spirit. He was a true asset to his team and a model teammate to his peers.
After graduation, Da'Lyn experienced one of the greatest joys of his life—the birth of his daughter, Indiya Reign Marie Faye Bell. Becoming a father brought him profound happiness and inspired him to grow and change. Indiya was his pride and joy, and she gave him a renewed sense of purpose. With the loving guidance of his former teacher, Mrs. Ponchella Doucet, Da'Lyn rededicated his life to Christ and was baptized again in 2023.
Da'Lyn leaves to cherish his memory his mother, Kizzie Bell of New Iberia, LA; father, Barry Druilhet Jr. of Beaumont, TX; beloved daughter, Indiya Reign Marie Faye Bell of Loreauville, LA; maternal grandfather, Joseph Gray of Franklin, LA; paternal grandparents, Barry and Marilyn Druilhet of Baldwin, LA; maternal siblings, Semaj (Tamara) Washington of Washington, LA; Ivian Bell of Baton Rouge, LA; and Kaeden Morris of New Iberia, LA; close aunt, Shelley Bell of New Iberia, LA; paternal siblings, Bronte Druilhet, Brashayla Druilhet, Chaz (Dion) Druilhet Critchlow, Danyelle Druilhet, Chyna Druilhet, Skye Druilhet, Barry Druilhet III, Barrius Druilhet, Trilaiah Druilhet, Asija Watson, Amari Kelly, Trikeilun Harris, and Legend Webb; godmother, Niechelle Winley; a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends.
