A Celebration of Life for Delores Davis, will be held Saturday,August 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Pentecostals of Lydia Church in New Iberia, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the commencement of the celebration at Pentecostals of Lydia Church in New Iberia, LA.

Delores will be interred at Morning Pilgrim Cemetery in Jeanerette, LA.

Delores Joyce Reed Davis was born on March 10,1946, on Katy Plantation in Franklin, Louisiana. She was a loving, sweet-spirited woman whose gentle nature touched everyone who knew her. Though quiet, meek, and gentle in spirit rather than loud or boisterous, she had a silly side that could bring smiles to those around her. She was also known for her warm and welcoming smile.

Delores enjoyed completing word-search puzzles, watching Murder, She Wrote, and spending precious time with her friends and family. Above all, she cherished the people she loved and the simple moments they shared.

Faith became an important part of Delores’ life. She enjoyed attending Pentecostals of Lydia, where she regained her relationship with God. Even during her final days, when illness prevented her from attending church in person, she continued to long to be in the house of God. She faithfully watched the services online, demonstrating how deeply her faith had become a part of her life.

Delores was born to Gladys Grimm Wilson and Norbert Reed, Sr. She leaves to cherish her memory her sisters, Naomi (Alfred) Washington of Baldwin, LA and Mary (Carlton) Alexander of Crowley, LA; godchild, Demis Bowie; long-time caregiver and niece, Gladys M. Latigue, who tirelessly cared for her with love, compassion, and devotion; a host of nieces, nephews, family members, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys Grimm Wilson; bonus father, Edgar Wilson; father, Norbert Reed, Sr.; brothers, Walter Grimm, Sr., Alphonse Houston, Norbert Reed, Jr., Bishop Louis Dugar, Deacon Lucius Dugar, Deacon Horace Dugar, and Jerry Dugar; sisters, Emily Marie R. Augustine, Louise Dasin, Ezora Bowie, Mary Johnson Baker, and Doris Reed; uncle, Wardell Reed, Sr.
