Denzel Matthews

Denzel Matthews was born on December 27, 1996 to Chantell Lynn Matthews and Curley Antoine Hines, Sr. Denzel departed this life due to unfortunate unexpected circumstances on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at his residence.

Denzel was a person who loved to go against the common grain. In other words, he did not fall prey to the "status quo", he preferred to challenge life's expectations toward making a profound difference. His greatest joy was being a father to his sons K'Lynn and Kaiden, who he adored without measure. His recreational activities consisted of playing video games, watching You Tube, listening to music, playing basketball and hanging out with his family and friends. To know Denzel is to love him, he will be missed by all who had the opportunity to be blessed in his presence.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his father, Curley Hines, Sr., two sons: K'Lynn Thompson and Kaiden Freeman, devoted sister and brother-in-law Jamaica L. and Christopher Eugene; two sons: K'Lynn Thompson and Kaiden Freeman; five brothers: Curtrell Hines, Curley Hines, Jr., Damien Matthews,Tramien(Shamesha)Matthews, Sr. and D'Vonnte(Noltavia)Matthews; maternal grandmother Theresa R. Eugene; paternal grandfather Moses Hines, Jr.; seven aunts: Jervaise Eugene, Gloria Bass, Rhokelia Hines, Debra M. Hall, Rosemary Sampay, Deidre Ledbetter and Bronson Wagner, eight uncles: Benjamin Hines, Moses Hines III, Charles Hines, Nolen Jackson, Jr., Troy LaFleur, Gerald Bradley, Steven Matthews, and Kevin Nedd, godmothers Stephanie G. Jones and Gloria Bass; godfather Jason Hines, dear companion Alexi Freeman and a host of great aunts, great uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Awaiting Denzel's ascension into heaven, his mother Chantell Lynn Matthews, daughter Ky'Lee Matthews, maternal grandfather Clarence Matthews and paternal grandmother Betty Jean Hines.
