A Private Memorial Service for Dorothy Davis will be held.
Dorothy "Dottie or Mama" Davis, as she was affectionately known, was born in Franklin, Louisiana to the late Louis A. Breaux, Jr. and Emily Martin Breaux.
She was a native of Franklin, Louisiana and a resident of Patterson, Louisiana. She graduated from St. John Academy in Franklin in 1952. She moved to Providence, Rhode Island after graduation and married her first husband, the late Lawrence "Larry" Souza and had two children from this union, Carol Ann Souza and Mark Anthony Souza. Dorothy remarried in 1964 to the late O. D. Davis and had one child from this union, Margaret "Peggy" Davis. Dorothy relocated back to Louisiana when her father became ill to be closer to her family. She loved everyone she met, she was a sweet and gentle soul who cherished her family and close friends, especially Tanny Brown. Tanny Brown, who was more like a daughter to her, was her best friend, confidant, and caregiver.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories; her daughters, Margaret "Peggy" Davis of Patterson, Louisiana, Carol Ann Souza of Saint Albans, West Virginia; one son, Mark Anthony Souza of E. Providence, Rhode Island; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her first husband, Lawrence Souza, her husband, O.D. Davis, her parents, Louis Breaux, Jr. and Emily Martin Breaux, her brother, Louis L.J. Breaux, III, a sister, Theckla Trahan, her niece, Susan Trahan, and both maternal and paternal grandparents.
