A Celebration of Life for Dorothy Mae “Dot” Crosby Dorsey will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 2:00 PM at First Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jeanerette, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 12:00 PM until the commencement of the celebration at First Jerusalem Baptist Church in Jeanerette, LA.

Dorothy will be interred at Sorrel Community Cemetery in Sorrel, LA.

Cherishing her memories are her children, Janice M. Wallace (J.E.) of New Iberia, Linda M. Broussard of Jeanerette, Troy Matthews of Port Arthur, TX, and Rodney Dorsey, Sr. (Juanita) of Atlanta, GA; her bonus sons, Ronald “Pop” Phillips (Lisa) of Beaumont, TX and Murray “Pee-Wee” Dorsey, Jr. (Connie) of Diamondhead, MS; a special niece she loved as a daughter, Carolyn S. Lewis (Carl) of Beaumont, TX; 16 grandchildren; 30+ great- grandchildren; brother-in-law, Rev. Isaiah Perro, Sr. of Jeanerette; sisters-in-law, Rosa Belle Kiel Crosby and Ethel Lee Williams Crosby of Jeanerette; longtime friend, Beverly Drexler Spencer; the Rock Zion Baptist Church family; and a host of other loving nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Dot now rests in sweet peace with her husband, Murray Mac Dorsey, Sr.; parents, George Crosby and Francis Carter Crosby; maternal grandparents, Joseph Carter and Mary Teno Carter; brothers, Sidney, James, Junius, Joseph, Roosevelt, Melvin, Walter, and Sanders Crosby; sisters, Doretha and Bessie Mae Crosby; mother-in-law, Louise Johnson Dorsey; father-in-law, Johnson Dorsey; brothers-in-law, Benjamin and Johnson Nathan Dorsey; sisters-in-law, Willie Mae Perro and Dorothy Steward; and infant great-grandchildren, Jackie Paul Roberson III, Christian Mahki Roberson, and Baby Girl Howard.

She will be greatly missed and forever remembered.
