A Celebration of Life for Dorothy Hilliard, will be held Saturday, February 3, 2024, at 1:00 P.M. at Greater St. Stephens Baptist Church in Franklin, La.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 3, 2024, from 11:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at Greater St. Stephens Baptist Church in Franklin, La.
Dorothy will be interred at New Providence Cemetery in Centerville, La.
Dorothy " Dot" Hilliard was born May 11,1962 along with a twin sister to the union of the late Wilfred Alexander, Sr. and the late Mable Diggs Alexander. Dorothy was called to her heavenly home on January 17, 2024 following a short illness. She was baptised at an early age and later became a member of New Providence Baptist church under the leadership of Rev. Ronald C. Young.
In her past time Dorothy affectionately called "Dot" enjoyed spending time with her family, spoiling her grandbaby Taylin ( as they would always stay up late at night eating snacks and watching tv) ; she loved her western's, swinging out (which she did so well) and going to the casino (Ching, Ching) as she referred to her winnings.
Dorothy leaves cherished memories with her four daughters; Dawn, Megan, Adriana, and Sarah Alexander all of Lafayette, La; one granddaughter, "her spoiled baby" Taylin Alexander; honorary daughter, Renata Hawkins of Houston, TX; five stepsons, Romalus Howard (Michelle) Alfred Hilliard of Carencro, La , Jared ( Calmesha) Hilliard of New Iberia, La, Jim Watson of New Iberia, La, Kortland (Shannon) Hilliard of Maryland; five sisters, Doretha, her twin (Reese) Sam, Lisa Alexander, Tina Alexander all of Centerville , La, Alice Alexander of Sioux City, Iowa, Michelle ( Paul) Nerve of Verdunville, La; two brothers, Tommy (Tamika) Alexander of Lafayette, La, Wilfred ( Latravia) Alexander of Verdunville, La; two sisters-in-law, Alberta Taylor, Ellen Stewart of Lafayette, La; one devoted friend, Katherine Mouton; a host of nieces and nephews, cousins, family, and friends.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jim Michael Hilliard; oldest daughter, Tremaine Alexander; four sisters, two brothers, aunts, uncles, and one brother in law who will all accompany her as they rest with God.
