Funeral Services for Earl Jackson, Jr. will be held on Friday, June 5, 2020, 11:00 AM at MK Dixon Funeral Home. Rev. Rickey Simmons will officiate the service.
Visitation will be Friday, June 5, 2020 from 9:00 AM until the commencement of the service at MK Dixon Funeral Home.
Mr. Jackson will be interred in Special Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Baldwin, LA.
Earl Jackson, Jr., 86, a lifelong resident of Baldwin, LA was born on October 06, 1934 to Leonie Hudson and Hosey Flemings. He was affectionately known as "Daddy Earl" to family. He peacefully departed this Earth on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at 5:23 AM at Legacy Retirement Home in Franklin, LA.
E arl gave his life to the Lord early in his life. He was a long-time committed member of "Holding Forth the Word of Life" Church of Franklin, LA under the leadership of his Spiritual son and daughter, Pastor Ricky Simmons and his wife Mary, where he served as a Deacon. He married his late wife, Marion Derbigney, on April 6, 1964.
E arl retired after 25 years with McDermott shipyard in Amelia, LA. While employed with McDermott Shipyard, he was a Boy Scott Leader of Baldwin Troop number 214 for 10 years. Earl was also an employee of St. Mary Parish School Board for 10 years providing cross guarding services for Baldwin Elementary. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, grandfather, and friend.
H e leaves in God's care, his brother, Lawrence Jackson (Patsy) of Baldwin, LA; his sister-in-law, Elaine Jackson (wife of his late brother Gerald Jackson) of Baldwin, LA; sister-in-law, Rose Alexander and brother-in-law, Luther Alexander; his sons, Keith A. Bowles of New Iberia, LA; Frank Bowles of Houston, TX; his daughters, Debra Howard of St. Rose, LA; Essie Johnson (Stanley) of LaPlace, LA; and Leslie Jackson of New Iberia, LA; 11 grandchildren; Keisha Bowles of Franklin, LA; Haillie Bowles of New Iberia, LA; Durrell Bowles and Marie Mouton of Houston, TX; Martina and Glenn Howard, Jr. of St. Rose, LA; D'Juan Johnson of Four Corners, LA; Kaprina Henderson (Joseph) and Rieisha Johnson of LaPlace, LA; Denzel Harris and Stephen Bruno, Jr. of New Iberia, LA; and 14 great grandchildren between the ages of 1 month old - 23 years old, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
E arl was proceeded in death by his loving wife, Marion Derbigney Jackson; his parents, Leonie Hudson and Hosey Flemings, Earl Jackson, Sr.; brother, Gerald Jackson; daughter-in-law, Vanessa M. Bowles.
