A Celebration of Life for Edward Paul Colar, Sr.,will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, 1:00 PM at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, La.

Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM, until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, La.

Edward will be interred at St. Jules Catholic Cemetery in Franklin, La.

Edward Paul Colar Sr., age 75, a native of Baldwin, LA, passed away peacefully on Monday, March 23, 2026, at his home in Franklin, LA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Mercedes Lyman Colar; wife, Valerie Thomas Colar; son-in-law, Brandon Schexnayder; grandson, Nicholas Paul Dangerfield.

Paul leaves to cherish his memories: his four loving children: Bragidda (Samuel) Dangerfield, III of Franklin, LA, Edward Paul (Terri) Colar, Jr. of Port Arthur, TX, Teralyn (Ronald) Allen of Celina, TX, and Shelly Schexnayder of Alexandria, LA; two brothers, Keith (Faye) Colar, Sr., Anthony (Iris) Colar, Sr., both of Baldwin, LA; half-sister; half- brother; eight grandchildren, Marquis Dangerfield, Devin Schexnayder, Christian Johnson, Makayla Dangerfield, Sabrina Johnson, Jalen Allen, Tianna Johnson, Aliyssa Odom; sisters-in-law, Casa Thomas and Marcie (Edward) Robison; brothers-in-law, Fedderick Thomas and Tony (Lillie) Thomas; close cousin, Dave (Earnestine) Colbert; host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. He also leaves to cherish his memories: his devoted and loving fiancée, Willie Joyce Coleman of Franklin, LA., and her family.

Paul was a faithful member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Baldwin, LA.

Paul received his diploma for completing Scientific Barbering School in 1970 at Louisiana State Barber College in Algiers, LA.

Paul was an Army Veteran. He served honorably in the Army from 1971-1976. He received the Army Commendation Metal for meritorious service while assigned to the Combat Support Company, 1st Battalion, 64th Armor in 1976.

Edward affectionately called “Paul”, loved to drive truck (18-wheeler). He drove truck for more than 20 years. He drove cross country and locally until he retired two years ago due to his health challenges.

Paul mostly loved spending time with, and taking trips with his family, spoiling his grandkids, and holiday gatherings.

Paul was a quiet and humble man who always smiled, laughed, and would help anyone if he could. He will truly be missed.
