Elaine "Poka" Jones

A Celebration of Life for Elaine "Poka" Jones., will be held Saturday, August 23, 2025, 11:00 AM at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.

Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM, until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.

Elaine Lovely Jones was born on March 1, 1957, to the late Abe Lovely, Jr. and Georgia Mae Vincent.

Elaine accepted Christ as her personal savior at an early age. Elaine was a member of Mt. Zoro Baptist Church in Franklin, LA, under the leadership of Pastor Noah Smith. She later joined Yahweh Word of Faith in Baldwin, LA, under the leadership of Apostle Alvin Davis, until she moved to Lafayette, LA.

Elaine was well known and loved by everyone who knew her. Elaine was a mom, provider, protector, and a free hearted person. She loved church, food, and her family. O, we don't want to forget her favorite place, the casino.

Left to mourn her loss and will forever, linger in their hearts and minds one son, Quincy Jones; three daughters, Jovan Lovely, Shuronda Jones-Reynolds, Quinetta Jones; 12 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; special friend, Gerald Minor; one aunt, Arline Theriot; five brothers, Abe Lovely, Edward James Vincent, Gregory Vincent, Eric Vincent, and Derrick Lovely; five sisters, Eleanor Small, Patricia Young, Ada Lightfoot, Monica Blackston, and Brenda Caesar; host of other relatives and close friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Georgia Ann Vincent; three brothers, Darral Lovely, Ray Vincent, and Tyrone Bolden; two nieces, Paula Wingfield, and Naquita Young.
