A Celebration of Life for Elsie Lightfoot, will be held Saturday, September 5, 2026, at 2:00 PM at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 5, 2026, from 12:00 PM until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.

Elsie will be interred at Nazarene Cemetery in Verdunville, LA.

Elsie Mae Lou-Lah Nerve Lightfoot was born on May 17, 1950, in Patoutville, Louisiana to the Charlie Nerve, Sr. and Mary Ann Nerve. She was baptized at an early age by the late Rev. Harry Burrell.

Elsie was affectionately known by many as “Lou” or “Lou-Lah”. She made a memorable impression on so many people and was loved and adored by those near and far.

Elsie loved to cook and was well known for her red beans and smothered okra. She worked at the Franklin Nursing Home for nearly 20 years.

Elsie leaves to cherish her memories to her children, Kathy Lightfoot (Kevin) Smith of Sorrel, LA; Joseph Lightfoot, Jr. (Zuleika) and Earl Perro both of Franklin, LA; Arabia Lightfoot and Myeisha Robinson both of Franklin, LA; five sisters, Mary Ann (Beverly) Kemp of Centerville, LA; Mattie Nerve, Judy (Edward) Delaune, and Lori Ann Nerve all of Patterson, LA; and Carol Nerve (Darren) of Franklin, LA; three brothers, Charles (Carolyn) Nerve of St. Martinville, LA; Paul (Michelle) Nerve of Centerville, LA; and David (Janice) Nerve of Patterson, LA; eight grandchildren, thirty-five great-grandchildren and three great- great grandchildren; along with a wonderful caregiver and granddaughter, Shallyn Vincent; two devoted friends, Mr. Marshal Lee, Sr. and Mrs. Jackie Richard and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Elsie was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Mary Nerve; two daughters, Pamela Ann Lightfoot and Chasity Gabriel; four brothers, Polite Nerve, Louis Nerve, Henry Nerve and Harry Nerve; one sister, Gladys Nerve and one niece, Tasha Nerve
