A Celebration of Life for Elvie Williams Corsey will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022, 12:00 Noon at First Jerusalem Baptist Church with Pastor Arthur Lee Alexander officiating. Mask will be required.

Visitation will be Saturday, October 29, 2022, from 10:00 AM until the commencement of the service at First Jerusalem Baptist Church.

Ms. Corsey will be interred in Sorrel Community Cemetery, Sorrel, LA

Elvie Williams Corsey, a resident of Jeanerette, LA passed away on Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at 4:00 PM at her residence.  She was 83 years old.  Elvie aka "Mother" was born January 23,1939 to the late Roger Williams Sr. and Nancy Antoine Williams in Jeanerette, LA where she lived most of her life.  In her early adult years, she married the late Henry Robinson Sr. and later married the late James Corsey Jr. who preceded her in death.  She attended school in Iberia Parish at Francis Marion Boley High School.  She was a faithful member of Rock Zion Baptist Church, Sorrel, LA in which she served as an Usher.  She enjoyed cooking, eating, dancing, and socializing with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, Roger and Nancy Williams, she is now rejoicing in glory with her husband James Corsey Jr., two sons James Robinson and Henry "Pop" Robinson, one daughter Diedre Lashawn Corsey and one granddaughter Travia Robinson Crosby; two brothers Eddie Williams, Sr. and John Paul Williams, Sr.; two sisters May Fay Williams and Kathy Williams; her maternal grandparents Landor and Lettie Antoine; her paternal grandparents Joseph and Viola H. Williams; father-in-law James Corsey Sr. and mother-in-law Fanny Johnson Corsey; two sister-in-law's Linda B. Williams and Mathilda F. Williams;; three brother-in-law's Woodrow, Paulfrey, and Ricky Corsey; special nieces and nephews that she never forgot Thaddeus Williams, Grace M. Hills, Sylvia A. Williams Walker, Troy Ray Gilliams, and TaShannon Ambrose.

She leaves to cherish her memories and carry on her legacy, four sons Donald Robinson, (Mary) of New Iberia, LA, Ervin Robinson (Sonja) of Cecilia, LA, Gregory Corsey (Mary) of St. Martinville, LA, and Ryan Corsey (Nicky) of San Angelo, TX; three daughters Gloria Dominique (Gerald) of Jeanerette, LA, Carolyn Bowles (Taylor) of Madisonville, LA, and Tiffany Stewart (Kevin) of Patterson, LA,; one daughter-in-law Masie Robinson (Late-Henry Robinson); three brothers Roger Jr. (Judy) Williams of Atlanta GA, Charles Williams, Sr. and Michael Williams, Sr. both of Jeanerette, LA; four sisters Ethel Lee (Walter Sr.) Crosby, Marion Sorrell all of Jeanerette, LA, Viola (Chester Sr.) Gilliams and Jennifer (Donald) Burns both of New Iberia, LA; one sister-in law Patronella Williams of Jeanerette, LA; special friend Ms. Daisy Levy of Jeanerette, LA, and a host of grandchildren, her nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
