Funeral services for Ethel Jenkins will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017, 11:00 AM, Little Zion Baptist Church, 256 Prairie Rd N, Centerville, LA. Rev. Samuel Calhoun will officiate the service.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 24, 2017, from 9:00 AM until the commencement of the funeral service at Little Zion Baptist Church.
She will be buried in New Providence Baptist Church Cemetery, Centerville, LA.
Ethel Mae Dickwell Jenkins was born October 1, 1924 in Fairfax, LA just below Shadyside, to the late Lucy Austin Thomas and the late Allen Dickwell, Sr.
She leaves to cherish her memories; two god children she raised as her own Shonnia Clark (Reginald) Madise and Renetta Clark-Hawkins, of Verdunville, LA, three grandsons, Jared, Tyrek, and Xavier Colbert, of Verdunville, LA, devoted cousin/niece, Brenda Clark-Caesar, of Baldwin, LA, five sisters, Shirley D. Bell, Ellarida D. Williams, Carolyn D. Wilson-Bradley, Gloria Mouton all of New Orleans, LA, and Elain D. ( Willie) Atkinson of Decatur, GA. Devoted friends, Mary Lipri Guarico of Morgan City, LA, Peter Lipri, of Patterson, LA, Virigina Brisco of Verdunville, LA Kevin and Dee Bertrand, of Shayside, LA and Lynell Major of Houston, TX., god mother Jessie Mae Daniel-Kemp. A host of god children, nieces, nephews, cousin, and other relatives and friends.
Ethel was preceded in death by her husband, Cornelius Jenkins, her mother Lucy Austin- Thomas, step-mother, Alice Dequair, her father, Allen Dickwell, Sr, step-father Edward Thomas, maternal grandparents Robert "Pop" and Rose Sypicon Austin, four brothers, one sister, four aunts and five uncles.
