Ethel Vilcan Persilver

A gathering of family and friends to celebrate the life of Ethel Vilcan Persilver will be held Monday, June 11, 2018, 1:00 PM at MK DIXON Funeral Home.

Visitation will be Monday, June 11, 2018 from 11:00AM – 1:00 PM at MK DIXON Funeral Home.

She will be laid to rest at the Chitimacha Mausoleum on the Chitimacha Tribe of LA Reservation

Ethel Vilcan Persilver, a native and longtime resident of Charenton was born on July 8, 1944 to the late Andrew and Mabel Vilcan. Ethel was a loving wife , mother, caring grandmother and great grandmother. She loved cooking and spending time with family and friends. Sitting on her swing and watching her great grandbabies play was what she enjoyed most.

Ethel passed away at the age of 73 on Thursday, June 7, 2018 at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center in Lafayette following a brief illness.

Mrs. Persilver is survived by her son, Russell "Rusty" Persilver, Jr. and partner Cassie Hotard, three grandchildren, Nicholas and wife Megan Persilver, Lauren and husband Tilton Conley, II, Megan Persilver and their mother Paula Persilver; four great grandchildren, Simeon, Nixon, Frederick Persilver and Aria Conley; one brother, Andrew "Andy" Vilcan, Jr., one sister, Judy and husband Johnny Bobbitt, brother-in-law, Henry "Big Daddy" Sedatol, sister-in-law, Gayle Vilcan, as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband Russell "Cat" Persilver, parents Andrew and Mabel Vilcan; brothers and sisters, Billie V. Sedatol, Archie Vilcan, Sr, Patricia Vilcan, Gary A Vilcan, Joy Johnson, Dennis Vilcan as well as nieces and nephews.
