Frankie Harris, a resident of Patterson, La, passed away on Tuesday, January 13, 2026. She was 57 years old.

On Tuesday, January 16, 1968, a beautiful baby girl was born and lovingly given to Pearl Noble and the late Mose Harris. They named her Frankie Denise Harris, affectionately known to many as Mz. Black. On Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at 4:00 p.m., Frankie was peacefully called home at Teche Regional Medical Center.

Frankie was baptized at an early age and remained a faithful, lifelong choir member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Morgan City, Louisiana. She was also the proud and dedicated President of the Lady Hustlers Social Club, a role she embraced with passion, leadership, and love.

During the fifty-seven years God allowed Frankie to walk this earth, she poured herself into her family, friends, and community. She was known as one of the most kind-hearted yet straightforward people you could ever meet—loving, honest, and genuine to her core. Frankie’s heart was especially devoted to her family, and her grandchildren meant the absolute world to her. There was truly nothing she wouldn’t do for those she loved.

Frankie will be deeply missed—not only for her loving spirit, but also for her joy in life. Her love for football (especially the Philadelphia Eagles), her dancing to “Too Blessed to Be Stressed,” and her unforgettable cooking will forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.

Frankie Denise Harris leaves to cherish her memory her loving mother, Pearl Mae Noble Powe; stepfather, Ira James Powe; brothers, Tron (Thelma) Grogan, Saul (Ebony) Grogan, III, Terrance (Ronata) Cosey, Rhyeem, and Melvin Donald Hunter; sisters, Joycelyn Beverly, Carolyn (Joseph) Pitre, Leola (Ivory) Young, Rose (Troy) Bryant, Cassandra (Keith) Bryant, Sherrise (Clifford) Collins, Millie Hunter, Sabrina Duplesis, and Toni Davis.

She also leaves behind her five beloved children: Trailan (Keisha) Harris, Theodore Harris, Bryant Harris, Bryanshekia Harris, and Shandace Harris; her cherished godchildren, Anthony Gant, Jessica Carbins, Latoya Poole, Al’Keirria Jones, Chelsea Hatcher, and Aaliyah Poole; 21 grandchildren; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, other relatives, and dear friends.

Frankie was preceded in death by her father, Moses J. Harris; Jasper Hunter; her precious grandchild, Mya Jolani Mae Harris; grandmothers, Rose Mary Young and Dorothy Hunter Gray; cousin, Rose Mary Young; her dedicated sisters, Samantha Poole and Melissa Jones; nephews, Jordan Poole, Jimmy Jones, and Modesto Reyes; niece, Crystal Jones; sister-in-law, Nedra Grogan; and brother-in-law, Allen Davis.
