Freddie (aka Skillet, Bae Bae, The Crackling Man - just to name a few) Cooks was born on March 21, 1965, in Franklin, LA. He was the youngest child of Susie Cooks Lewis and Freddie Lockley. He was a 1984 graduate of FSHS, a U.S. Army vet, and a loving brother, uncle, father, grandfather, and friend. He lived, laughed, and loved until his last breath. He retired from UMCOR Sager Brown Depo after 20 years of service.

Freddie lives on in the hearts and memories of two sons, Trevon Cooks of New Iberia, LA, and Dillon Lively of Dallas, TX; one grandson, Kingston James Lively; five sisters, Edna Middleton, Paula (William) Robinson both of Franklin, LA, Edwina "Judy" Lewis of Humble, TX, Sandra Richards, and Stonjia Gibson of Baldwin, LA; two brothers, Rogers Lewis of Houston, TX, and Johnell "Bubba" (Annie Mae) Lewis of Baldwin, LA; several lifelong friends that we consider bonus brothers, Richard Tabb, and Dean Lanceslin; one very special friend, Veronica Lively. Freddie had a close bond with all his nieces and nephews but had an especially close one with Daa Naa Richards, Jarvis Richards, and Allex Caesar.

Freddie was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Lilton "Rudy" Cooks, and Edwin Lewis; one sister, Paxton Keys; three brothers-in-law, Charles "Butch" Middleton, Donald Richards, Sr., and George Keys; one sister-in-law, Alice Lewis.
