Gary Phillips

A Celebration of Life for Gary Phillips, will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024, at 1:00 PM at MK Dixon Funeral in Baldwin, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 23, 2024, from 12:00 PM until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.

Gary will be interred at Pecot St. Cemetery in Franklin, LA.

Gary Ray Phillips, was born October 26, 1962, in Pleasant Hill, LA to Elvin and Brenda Phillips. He was the third of seven children.

Gary better known as "G-Man" attended public school and graduated from Franklin Sr. High school with the class of 1980. His favorite class was music, a bonus singing in the school choir.

He held various jobs but the one he was most known for was "butchering". It was a God given talent. A skill which he mastered for cutting meat.

Gary was baptized at The Apostolic church in New Iberia, LA, while attending service he was seen running, singing, and praising God for his unconditional love.

He lived a quiet and simple life. He possessed a peaceful caring spirit and enjoyed helping others. He liked watching western movies, the food channels, fishing, and riding his pink pedal three-wheel bike. One thing he will be remembered for was his love for his mother, siblings, family and ALL his children.

On Saturday, November 16, 2024, at 4:02 PM, he finished his life course at Legacy Nursing Home supported by his loved ones.

He leaves to cherish his memories his mother, Brenda Joyce Mitchell Phillips of Franklin, LA; daughters, Shequine Lanise Rudolph (Benjamin Miller) of Los Angeles, CA, Shequitha Renise Rudolph of Las Vegas, NV, Telisha Alexis Cobi Matthews of New Iberia, LA, Merinthia (Travis) Alexander of Lafayette, LA, and Keivonna Rudolph (Karl Mallet, Jr.) of Franklin, LA; sons, Gary (Courtland) Alexander of Jeanerette, LA, Gary Phillips of Lafayette, LA, Garyiece (Angel) Taylor of Sabine Pass, Texas; sisters, Carla (Linel) Toussaint of Charenton, LA, Angela (Jackie) Roberson of Franklin, LA, Niah Phillips of Houston, TX, Victoria (Whitney) Broussard of Jeanerette, LA, Yolanda Phillips of Lafayette, LA; brothers, Elvin Keith Phillips of Franklin, LA, Denny Robin(Sandra) Phillips of Pasadena, Maryland, Brad Abraham of Jeanerette, LA; 25 grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father and other loved ones.
