Gene Wells, Sr.

Gene attended schools in St. Mary Parish School Board System. After finishing school, he went to work for Gene's Tractor Repair and Wrecker service until he retired. He was a lifetime member of the Leonidas Lodge #29 of Baldwin, LA.

He loved to fish, work in his yard, and love doing mechanic work on lawn mowers, but most of all after his dialysis, his son Baby Gene would take him for long rides to visit family members and friends around town before they would make it back home.

He leaves to cherish his memories; Gene (Monica) Wells, Jr. of Franklin, LA; one daughter, Gertrude "Cissy" Johnson of Franklin, LA; three sisters, Alice Westley and Burdette Ina both of Houston, TX; and Emma Jean Pillette of Baldwin, LA; one brother-in-law, John Payne Mitchell of Baldwin, LA; two devoted friends; June Mitchell and Albertine Washington both of Franklin, LA; eight grandchildren, Terrance Johnson, Cintrell Johnson, Lillian McDaniel, Brittany Hawkins, Lavonte Joseph, Gentrell Wells, Shantrell Wells, and Amani Skye Wells; eight great-grandchildren, Dallace Hawkins, Montrell Ned, Khalil Harvey, Darious Johnson, Terrance Johnson, Jr., Davean Thomas, India Johnson, and Terrell Johnson, and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Raymond Wells, and Clarence Wells, one sister, Verdie Mitchell, one granddaughter, Katisha Johnson, one grandson, Gene Wells, III.
