A Celebration of Life for Gloria Ceasar Depass, will be held Saturday, September 2, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin, La.

Visitation will be Saturday, September 2, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin, La.

Gloria Ceasar Depass, 64, a native of Breaux Bridge, La died unexpectedly at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center on Tuesday morning at 2:00 A.M. Two days after having a stroke on Sunday morning August 20, 2023.  Gloria's loss was completely unexpected and the family is shocked and deeply saddened.  Gloria was born on August 4, 1959, to the late Peter and Gloria Tardy Ceaser of Baldwin, La.  She was baptized at Special Providence Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. C.E. Baptiste in Baldwin, La and was a visitor at different churches throughout her life.

Gloria was a caring and loving wife, daughter and daughter- in- law , mother,  grandmother,  great grandmother, sister, sister-in- law, aunt,  great aunt, friend and neighbor.  Anyone who knew Gloria, knew that she was kind, loving, caring and truly a giver.  She loved playing bingo a lot and occasionally attended card games as her hobby and was always inviting people to tag along with her to the bingo hall convincing them that they could possibly win the jackpot (lol). Gloria had a character that was full of life, loved to tell stories, jokes and loved making other people laugh.  If you knew her, you would know that she was the life of the party and a very down-to-earth tell it like it is kind of person who looked out for others.  She loved having family and friends over for gatherings and cooked the best smothered okra.  Everyone enjoyed that meal the way she cooked it. Gloria was known by a lot of people and had a beautiful infectious smile that would light up any room she entered and had a big heart for everyone that crossed her path in life.

Her loving memory will be cherished by her husband, Clarence Depass Jr.; two children, Lorenzo Ceaser of Breaux Bridge, La, and Elette (Nikki) Johnson of Houston, TX; three bonus children, Alexis and Raphael Depass whom she raised as her own kids, both of Charleston, SC, and Shymeka Fleming of Charleston, SC; granddaughter, Brianesha Walters of Shreveport, La; grandson, Garrett Johnson (Chris) of Houston, TX whom her and her husband, Clarence Depass Jr.  both raised in their home, since little babies like their own biological kids; 16 grand kids; 5 great grand kids; one God child, Dartavin Depass; six sisters, Mary Ceaser of Baldwin, La,  Sherry (Joseph) Simmons of Jeanerette, La, Nedra (Jefferson) Jackson,  Lillian  (John) Davis, Joyce (Bobby) Conway all of New Iberia, La and Donna Ceaser of Mareno, Valley, Ca; two brothers, Wayne Ceaser of Breaux Bridge, La and Irvin Ceaser of New Iberia, La; father-in-law, Clarence Depass, Sr. of Franklin, La; two brothers-in-law, Brian (Renetta) Rack of San Diego, Ca and Ronald Depass of Lafayette, La; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews that loved her dearly and whom she loved so genuinely and treated all of them the same. They were all her favorites. Aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, and neighbors that admired Gloria and loved when she was around them.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, Peter Ceaser and Gloria Tardy Ceaser; daughter, Kelly Ceaser Joseph; mother-in-law, Marjorie L. Rack Depass; two brothers, Kevin Ceaser and William Harold Hudson; two sisters, Diane Ceaser Collins, and Tephanie Ceaser; two sisters- in- law; Delores Depass and Annetta Depass; one nephew, Dawan Ceaser.
