A Celebration of Life for Gracie Jennings will be held Saturday, March 5, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Good Hope Baptist Church in Patterson, Louisiana. Mask will be required.

Visitation will be Saturday, March 5, 2022 from 10:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at Good Hope Baptist Church in Patterson, Louisiana.
Gracie will be interred at New Salem (Home Industrial) Cemetery in Patterson, Louisiana.
Gracie Bennett was born on June 16, 1931, to the late Frankie & Elvena Hamilton Bennett in Patterson, Louisiana. She received her primary education at Hattie Watts school of colored. Her family consist of six brothers and three sisters. As a young woman, she met Clarence Jennings, Sr., whom she later married on October 26, 1949, and they were blessed with seven children.
Gracie was baptized at an early age at St. Luke Baptist Church by the late Rev. B.G. Powell. She was a faithful member of St. Luke Baptist Church and loved to sing in the Choir. On March 24, 2019, she later joined One Faith, One Fellowship Christian Center under the leadership of Apostle Lee and Pastor Myra Condolle.
On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, Gracie passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family, from a lengthy illness Alzheimer.
Gracie leaves embracing the hearts and memory of her two daughters, Cynthia (Ivory) Hilliard, Sr., and Barbara Jennings both of Patterson, LA; three sons, Charles (Mert) Jennings of Patterson, LA; Clarence Jennings, Sr. of Baton Rouge, LA; and Leonard Jennings of Katy, TX; one sister, Frankie Mae Ladday of Patterson, LA; and one brother, Bertrand Bennett, Sr. of Patterson, LA; two sisters-in-law, Cora Jennings and Ella Bennett, godchildren, Candace Clark, Lorretta Diaz and Dionne McKnight all of Patterson, LA; twenty-one grandchildren, thirty-five great grandchildren and eleven great great grandchildren, a special friend, Mrs. Jackie McKnight. and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Gracie was preceded in death by her parents Frankie, and Elvena Bennett, her husband Clarence Jennings, Sr., a daughter, Terry A. Jennings, one son, Calvin R. Jennings, one granddaughter, Sharonne Gant, one grandson, Kevin Jennings, one great granddaughter, Braylie Ann Clarkston, five brothers, Albert Bennett, Wilbert Bennett, Donald Bennett, Calvin Bennett, Charles Allen Bennett, one sister, Albertha Richard.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to MK Dixon Funeral Home, 337-940-9253, 211 Main Street, Baldwin, LA 70514.
