Celebration of Life for Harold James Clay will be Saturday, August 22, 2015, 1:00 PM at First Good Hope Baptist Church, 415 Lewis Street, Jeanerette LA. Bishop Alvin Davis Sr., officiating.
Harold will be interred in Elijah Merritte Eternal Rest Cemetery, Jeanerette, LA.
Visitation will be Saturday, August 22, 2015, 9:00 Am until time of services at the church.
Harold was a resident of Memphis TN. He passed on August 16, 2015 at Methodist hospital Memphis TN. He graduated from Boley Francis High School, Jeanrette, LA. He accepted Christ at an early age, and was baptized by the late Gurley E. Batiste at First Jerusalem Baptist Church. He leaves to cherish many wonderful memories, his companion of 40 years, Loretta Tharpe, Memphis TN. one daughter, Patrice Clay Bradley (Micah), Dallas, TX; two sons, Harold Clay Jr., Atlanta GA, Aubrey Clay (Tonya), Atlanta GA; one Godchild Melinda Alexander Clavelle, Jeanerette, LA; 10 grandchildren, siblings, Sylvinia W. Key (Percy), Jeanerette, LA, Margienell Jacobs (Hayden), Houston, TX, Stanley Clay (Ethel), Baldwin, LA, Terry Clay (Lorraine), Derrider Polly Clay Marks (James), Jeanerette, LA; Beverly Clay, New Iberia, LA, Johnny Clay, New Iberia, LA, one aunt, Hester Sparrow, Abbeville, LA, and a host of nieces and nephews, relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Adam Nappy Clay and Georgia Sparrow Clay, siblings, Gloria White Sampay, Robert White, Emily White Dalton, Geraldine Clay Sereal.
