A Celebration of Life for Brother Harold Logerman, Sr., will be held Saturday, April 4, 2026, 11:00 AM at Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Baldwin, LA. Pastor TJ Andrus will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 4, 2026, 9:00 AM, until the commencement of the celebration at Greater New Hope Baptist Church in Baldwin, LA.

Harold will be interred at Greater New Hope Baptist Cemetery in Baldwin, LA.

Brother Harold Logerman was born on September 26, 1923, to the union of the late Joseph and Agness Logerman. Brother Logerman was affectionately known to many for his spirit of generosity. He accepted Christ as his Lord and Savior, was filled with the Holy Ghost, and was baptized in Jesus' Name! His life was firmly rooted in faith, discipline, and service-principles that guided his selfless commitment to others.

As a young man, Brother Logerman developed a strong work ethic while assisting his brother with daily tasks before accepting his first job at Caffery Sugar Mill. Mr. Logerman was self-taught and used his life and profession as a platform to express his generosity, His integrity, diligence, and discipline opened many doors throughout his adult life. He later chose carpentry as his trade and became the first Black man to hold the position of Boiler Room Operator at Sterling Sugar Mill.

He and his brother made it a priority to fish and garden, not only for themselves but to share their harvest with the community. It brought him great joy, as giving was truly a part of who he was.

Brother Harold Logerman Sr. lived a life of purpose and service, a true servant of God whose legacy will continue to inspire future generations.

Brother Harold Logerman Sr. departed this life on March 22, 2026, at 12:55 p.m. at his home in Baldwin, Louisiana. He leaves one surviving sibling, Lawrence Logerman of San Francisco, California to cherish his memory.

He also leaves his beloved children; Deacon Harold Logerman Jr. (Faye Logerman) and Minister Ollie Harrison, both of Baldwin, Louisiana; Marie (Darnell) Witherspoon of Huntsville, Alabama; Roman Baker of Dallas, Texas; and Viola Goins of Huntsville, Alabama.

Brother Logerman also leaves to cherish his memory six grandchildren: LaGrant (Kimberly) Harrison of Senoia, Georgia; LaMonique “Nikki,” his most cherished, (William) Benford of Atlanta, Georgia; LaNore (Devin) Guillory of Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia; Reggie (Rhonda) Logerman of Seattle, Washington; Stephanie (Deon) Brent of Franklin, Louisiana; and Thako Davidson of Lafayette, Louisiana.

Additionally, he is remembered by his great-grandchildren; LaReco, LaReabiah, and Anah Harrison; Tysen, LaAsia, Sara, and Taylor Benford; Devin and Grace-LaNore Guillory; Roderick Moton; and Ja-shonae Cogswell; and a host of great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, friends, and prayer partners.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Agness Logerman; seven brothers, Frank, Alton, Leroy, Ulysses, Charles, and Joe Logerman; his only dearest sister, Netha Pentard; one great-grandchild, Quinton Moton.

Brother Harold Logerman Sr. lived a life of purpose and service, a true servant of God whose legacy will continue to inspire generations to come.
