Harold Shields

A Celebration of Life for Harold Shields, will be held Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at 12:00 P.M. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Charenton, La.

Visitation will be Wednesday, December 27, 2023, from 10:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Charenton, La.

Harold will be interred at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Charenton, La.

Harold Shields, Sr., son of Murphy Matthews, Sr. and Virginia Shields, was born on December 12, 1955, in Lafayette, La. He was the third oldest of seven children and is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Irene; brother, James Tibbs.

He was a graduate of Franklin Sr. High School in Franklin, La, Class of 1973. He served in the United States Airforce.

Some of Harold's greatest attributes were his friendly and giving nature. He could often be found socializing with friends and family, offering jokes and stories of good times.

His memory will live on through his one son; Harold John Shields, Jr., and his wife, Kassandra Talbot-Shields, of Pescadero, CA; siblings, Elwood Shields of Lafayette, La, Winston Shields of New Orleans, La, Raymond Shields of Baldwin, La, and Diane Shields Simon of Beaumont, TX; uncles, Joe Shields and Willie Narcisse; and a host of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
