A Celebration of Life for Herbert "Bobby" Lafleur, will be held Saturday, January 27, 2024, at 11:00 A.M. at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Charenton, La.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 9:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church in Charenton, La.
Herbert will be interred at Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church Cemetery in Charenton, La.
On Monday, January 15, 2024, the Lord sent his angel to deliver Herbert Lafleur to his eternal resting place. He was born in Charenton, La to the late Clarence and Flavar Lafleur. Herbert "Bobby" Lafleur was a faithful member of the Mt. Pleasant Baptist Church, where he served on the Deacon board for nearly 20 years. Herbert served on the finance committee, the cemetery's overseer, and a member of the Mt. Pleasant's male choir.
Herbert, affectionately called "Bobby" received his education from Charenton Colored School. "Bobby" retired from Port Arthur ship yard. He loved playing baseball, lawn care, fishing and just neighborhood rides. "Bobby" was a faithful Dallas Cowboys fan.
Herbert leaves to cherish his memory his loving and caring wife, Gladys Charles Lafleur; four beloved children, Jacki Lafleur of New Orleans, La, Tiffany (Michael) Gasper of Fort Worth, TX, Troy Prenell Lafleur of Sorrel, La, and Brandon Charles Lafleur of New Iberia, La; three sisters, Helen Reese, Joyce Lafleur, and Debra Lafleur of California; grandchildren, Demita Harrell, Brandon, Deondra, Deidra Lafleur, Jasmine Jenkins, Timothy Gasper, De'Juan Pierre, Troy Prenell, Jr., Tanner and Tailor Lafleur; 3 great grandchildren, Priscilla Carr, Jakobi Harrell, Melissa Koryn Taylor Jordan. Herbert had a special place in his heart for his favorite fishing buddy, Kenneth Wayne Perry, Sr.; favorite driver, Carl E. Charles, a group of special friends, Conrad Burgess, Danny Tyler, Russell and Corey Earl Tyler; two special neighbors, Glenn Leblanc and Ernie Romero, whom he loved doing yardwork alongside.
"Bobby" was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Lois Renalt and Shirley Bush; one brother, Clarence Lafleur, Jr; grandparents, Charles "Charlie" and Pearly Alexander; in laws, Cleveland and Almeta Charles; brother in law, Kerry Charles, Sr.
