The Life of Herbert E. Druilhet, Jr., 73, will be celebrated on Saturday, July 25, 2015, 1:00 PM, Trinity UMC, 101 Main Street, Baldwin, LA. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM at Trinity UMC. He will be laid to rest in Trinity UMC Cemetery. Pastor Rev. Ronald J. Southall, Officiant, Rev. Benny Druilhet, Eulogist.
Herbert Ernest Druilhet Jr. was born March 31, 1942 to the late Herbert Ernest and Lytha Van Buren Druilhet in Baldwin, Louisiana. He attended Sager Brown School and G.W. Hamilton School in Baldwin where he grew up. Later in life, he worked as a machinist for several local sugar mills including Oaklawn Sugar, Jeanerette Sugar, and most recently, St. Mary Sugar Co-Op, where he retired in 2005. He also served six and a half terms as Alderman for the Town of Baldwin.
Herbert married the love of his life, Glenn Lockley on December 31, 1966 and enjoyed almost 49 wonderful years together. To their union were born four daughters and one son, daughter Lasaun Suzette Druilhet of Riverdale, GA, son Dr. Herbert E. Druilhet III of Youngsville, LA, daughter Keena Dowsey (Antonio) of Fayetteville, NC, daughter Gentry Druilhet of Baldwin, LA. All who knew and loved him affectionately called him "Bug".
He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Lytha Druilhet; his brothers, Jerome Druilhet and Joseph Druilhet; and one daughter, Shelby Druilhet.
He leaves to cherish his beloved wife, Glenn Lockley Druilhet of Baldwin, LA; brothers, Barry Druilhet (Marilyn) , Benny Druilhet Sr. (Valerie), Mickey Druilhet and Jules Druilhet (Lana) of Baldwin, LA, and William Druilhet (Frankie) of Lake Charles, LA; sisters, Patricia Jackson (Lawrence), Brenda Thomas, and Vergie Richard of Baldwin, LA, Jacqueline Glenn (Willie) of New Iberia, LA, Diane Lundy of Galveston, TX and Sheila Lewis (Peter) of Waldorf, MD, sister-in-law Lana Hebert Druilhet , 10 grandchildren and one great-grandchild and a host of friends and family.
