Funeral Service for Hilda Wilson will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, 12:00 PM at Greater St. Stephen Baptist Church, 305 6th Street Franklin, LA. Pastor Deandre Johnson will be officiating the services.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 3, 2018, from 10:00 AM until the commencement of the funeral service at Greater St. Stephen Baptist Church.
Ms. Wilson will be interred in Perpetual Park Cemetery, Franklin, LA.
"For I am now ready to be offered and the time of my departure is at hand. I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." – 2 Timothy 4:68
Hilda Mae Madison Wilson was the first child born to the late May Louise Madison and the late Clarence Chartain on September 18, 1946 in Oxford Plantation.
Hilda was baptized and accepted Christ in her life at an early age. She attended St. Stephen Baptist Church on Oxford Plantation. On October 1, 2006, she united with Lighthouse Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Allen R. Randle Sr. She was united in holy matrimony to the late Ervin Wilson Jr. and to this union they parented six children.
Hilda was preceded in death by her husband Ervin "Pap" Wilson Jr., her parents, her step-father Sandy Byrd Sr., two siblings, three aunts, and three uncles.
Hilda leaves to cherish her loving memories four sons, James (Albertha) Jennings Jr. of Houma, LA, Keith (Mattie) Jennings and Mark Madison of Houston, TX, Irvin (Jessica) Jennings of Douglasville, GA; two daughters, Loran J. Spain and Connie Jennings of Franklin, LA; three brothers, Sandy (Terry) Byrd Jr. of Cheneyville, LA, Ronald (Maxine) Byrd and Kenneth Byrd of LeCompte, LA; seven sisters, Veronica (James) Fisher of Cheneyville, LA, Barbara Byrd, Diane (Leroy) Willis, Gloria (John) Brooks, Carolyn Byrd, Ella (Johnny) Byrd, and Michelle (Keywaynetheian) Walker all of LaCompte, LA; three sister-in-laws, Hattie Wilson Johnson and Bulah (Lester) Wilson of Franklin, LA, and Mary Louise Byrd of Cheneyville, LA; eighteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; a uncle, Herbert Madison of Beaumont, TX; one godchild, Tee'sha Golden of Franklin, LA; nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
