Ida Mary Naquin Seneca, a lifelong resident of Baldwin, Louisiana passed peacefully from this life to the next on January 2, 2024 at 12:00 p.m. She was 86 years old. Ida was born on January 25, 1937 to Maurice and Ida Granger Naquin of Baldwin, Louisiana. She attended Franklin Senior High School and was the salutatorian of the 1955 graduating class. She went to work for the state welfare office and greatly enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family and friends. She met the love of her life and married Harry Moses Seneca on June 20, 1970. In 1973, she transitioned from career woman to mother as they welcomed their only son, Maurice Paul Seneca. She spent the next two decades being fully involved in her son's life as a little league coach, booster club officer, and his biggest football fan even traveling to Monroe, Louisiana on many Saturday nights to watch him play college football. During her later years, she enjoyed continuing to do genealogy work with Harry, sewing, and visiting family and friends. Her greatest joy was her two grandsons, Hunter and Hayden. She continued to be fully involved in all of their extra curricular activities. This past fall she was able to watch her youngest grandson play college football which brought her tremendous joy. She will be greatly missed by all who knew this special lady!

She is survived by her only son, Reverend Maurice Paul "Mo" Seneca and wife, Shontel of Patterson, Louisiana; two grandsons, Hunter Christian Seneca and his wife, Samantha of Thibodaux, Louisiana and Hayden Paul Seneca and his longtime girlfriend, Ahni Mire; one sister, Teresa Naquin Ruiz of Cade, Louisiana; along with numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Harry Moses Seneca; her parents, Maurice Paul Naquin and Ida Mary Granger Naquin; siblings, Malcolm Naquin, Doris Naquin DeMahy, and Joseph Naquin.

Special appreciation to all of her caregivers, especially her two sitters who became great friends, Gwen Mitchell and Regina Beniot.
