James will be buried in Sorrel Community Cemetery, Sorrel LA.
On Tuesday, January 12, 2021, James Clarence Lewis Jr. "Bugga" was welcomed to his heavenly home. "To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:" Ecclesiastes 3:1
A Sorrell, LA native, James "Bugga", 42, was born on May 28, 1978 to the union of James C. Lewis Sr. and the late Shelia M. Lewis. James "Bugga" was the first of eight siblings. He was a caring and loving brother. At a young age, he accepted Christ and was baptized at St Moses under the leadership of Rev. Jordan. James (Bugga) met and fell in love with Tracey Sophus. They were joined in Holy Matrimony, in New Iberia, LA, on December 22, 2001. Out of this union, the two were blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Jasmine Miracle Lewis. James "Bugga" was not only a devoted husband and father, but also a loving grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, and friend to many.
He leaves to cherish loving memories: his two daughters, Jasmine M. Lewis of Austin, TX and Jalacia Ricole Barnes of New Iberia, LA; four grandchildren, Lyla Olivier, Lia Olivier, Ace Barnes and Ashad Barnes of New Iberia, LA; his father, James C. Lewis Sr. (Hippie) of Sorrell, LA; his grandparents Bobbie Jean Wolfe (Artis) of Beaumont, TX, Anna Mae Rhine Teno of Sorrell, LA; his seven siblings, Joseph Lewis Sr. (Shaina), Jermaine Lewis (Robin) of Jeanerette, LA, Kenneth Lewis (Shalan) of New Iberia, LA, Aleisha Lewis, Kendell Lewis, Isaiah Lewis, April Lewis (Quinn Sr.) of Sorrell, LA; five nephews Brycen Williams, Cam'Ren Lewis, Brayden Williams, Quinn Lewis Jr., Joseph Lewis Jr.; one niece Aubree Lewis; cherished friends, Ray Johnson, Authur Lewis, Reginald Whitehead; and a host of other relatives and friends.
James (Bugga) was preceded in death by his wife, Tracey S. Lewis; his mother, Shelia M. Lewis; his grandfathers, James Bradley Sr., and Clarence Lewis; his great grandmothers Leona Clay, Fannie Williams, Esther Rhine and Margaret Lewis, his great grandfathers Robert Clay Sr., Alfred Williams, Clarence Rhine and Henry Lewis; and one friend Terry (App) Smith.
