A Celebration of Life for James Lee Washington Jr. will be held Saturday, March 13, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, Louisiana. Mask will be required.
Visitation will be Saturday, March 13, 2021, from 11:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home.
James will be interred at Special Providence Baptist Church Cemetery in Baldwin, Louisiana.
James Lee ,as he was affectionately called, was born on December 23, 1951, in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Rosalie Barrow- Conner and James Lee Washington Sr. James was the first born son of three boys to his mother,Rosalie and the second born of six siblings to his father, James Sr.
James was baptized by Rev. Freddie Banks, on September 7, 1975 at Progressive Baptist Church in Lafayette, Louisiana. He later joined Special Providence Baptist Church in Baldwin, Louisiana. James also served as a deacon at Special Providence Baptist Church.
James received his education in the St. Mary Parish School System. James joined the Army on March 23,1971, where he finished his schooling and received his high school diploma. James also served in Vietnam as a military police officer. Upon returning from the army in 1973, James started and perfected his career in Carpentry. He worked as a contract carpenter for 43 years.
In 1973, James met Earline Landry Boutte and moved to Broussard, Louisiana. In 1976, James and Earline joined in Holy Matrimony and raised four kids.
James memories will live on in the hearts of his family, ex-wife, Earline Landry, two sons, Charles Boutte and Darrell (Cassie) Boutte, one daughter Vickie (Sessil) Trepagnier, six grandchildren, Markenia Boutte, Amber Labbe, Laturus Domingue, Alicia Domingue, Emick Price, Jr., Kayla Price, seven great-grandchildren, Amina Toney, Latavian Locks, Jr., Tajh Domingue, Ean Price, Eli Price, Errow Price and Dillion Price, four brothers, Ronald Barrow, Troy Conner, James Lee Washington Jr., and Paul Washington, two sisters Barbara Washington and Edwenia (Ricky) Armelin, three aunts Agnes Brown, Dolly Dixon, and Mary (Henry) Martin, one uncle, Charlie (Sherry) Martin and a hosts of nieces, nephews, friends, and cousins.
James was preceded in death by his grandmother, Mary Dixon, parents, Rosalie Conner and James Lee Washington, Sr., stepmom, Irene Washington, brother, Wilfred Washington, daughter, Shirley Price, and niece, Shoundranique LaShay Conner.
