James Williams, passed away on Monday, November 15, 2021 at The Carpenter House of St. Joseph Hospice in Lafayette, LA.
James "Earlis" Williams was a native of Franklin, LA, and resident of Moses Lake Washington. James was born on June 20, 1949, to the late Joseph "Joe" Lewis and the late Beatrice Williams.
He accepted Christ and found his faith with God at an early age. He was baptized by the late Pastor Joseph Fields at Greater St. Stephens Baptist Church in Oxford,LA.
James attended school within the St. Mary Parish School System. He later worked offshore for many years and then went on to driving trucks and tractors in the cane field. After losing his ability to work he became a homebody but didn't stay still. He always found something to do especially cooking just about everyday just to see his family eat. His specialty was red beans, he just knew his beans were the best and they were. He loved to tell jokes to make everyone laugh, including himself. He had a laugh that was one of a kind. It was never a dull moment being around himand he made sure of it. Finally, out of all the things he chose to do in life he chose family first. Everyone always knew where Earlis was.
Earlis as we all knew him is no longer with us but will always be in our hearts. He leaves behind many who will cherish his memories, three daughters, Jessica Gollmer of Morgan City, LA; Jackie Pierre of Baldwin, LA; and Mmeia Williams of Moses Lake WA; three sons, Jamerson (Terry) Williams of Morgan City, LA; Robert (Nicole) Roberson of St. Martinville, LA; and Earlie (Barbara) Roberson of Lafayette,LA; twenty grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren all of Franklin, LA; three stepchildren from his late wife, Deborah, Anna Lilly, Esther Wynn and Murray Bradley all of Seattle WA; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also of Settle WA; two sisters, Gracie Spain of Beaumont TX; and Joann Lee Williams of Moses Lake, WA; two brothers; Ronnie Lewis and Terry Lewis both of Lafayette, LA; one aunt, Adell Williams of Orange TX; one uncle, Robert Foster of Franklin, LA.
