Visitation will be Saturday, January 21, 2017, from 10:00 AM until the commencement of the funeral service at MK Dixon Funeral Home.
Joel James Diaz, Sr. was born October 3, 1958 in Pineville, Louisiana to the late Ben Coleman, Jr. & Lottie Mae Smith Coleman Diaz and adopted father George Diaz. Joel departed this life, on Saturday, January 14, 2017 at his residence.
Joel was a loving father, brother, grandfather and friend. He was a resident of Alexandria, LA, on South St. and later move to Loreauville, LA, where he graduated from Loreauville High School in 1976. He later move to Franklin, LA, and raised his family there, he became a member of Mt. Zion Baptist Church of Franklin, LA. He was employed at Cameron Iron Works, was. He also loved to fish and do carpenter work.
Joelwas preceded in death by his parents; Ben Coleman, Jr.: Lottie Mae Smith Coleman Diaz, and George Diaz; two sons; Joel James Diaz, Jr.; and Jordy J. Diaz, two brothers; Samuel Diaz, and Frank Mickles.
Joel "Joey" James Diaz leaves to cherish his memories two sons; Jamaion (Chanquillan) Diaz of Baldwin, LA; and Joshua Diaz of Franklin, LA; two sisters; Anna Clay of Franklin, LA; and Irma (Bobby) Dodson, of
Cartersville Georgia; two grandchildren; Jamie'iya Diaz and Ja'Kyree Diaz of Baldwin, LA. two ex-wives; Lillie Mae Diaz of Alexandria, LA; and Elease Jackson, of Baldwin, LA; and host of others relatives and friends.
