John Allen Arceneaux, a resident of Baldwin, Louisiana, and formerly of Houston, Texas, passed from this life on Thursday, May 1, 2025. He came into this world on January 16, 1955, the beautiful baby boy of John and Margarette Arceneaux, both of whom preceded him in death, along with his beloved sister, Rosalind Arceneaux, Sigur, who also helped the angels welcome John into his new home in Glory.
John Allen was a smart man, an industrious man, who took pride in helping friends in any way he could. If you knew him well, you knew he was brilliant and would lend his skills repairing air conditioners, appliances, etc. "Baby sister, Cynthia, has a broken A/C in Lake Charles? Don't you dare suggest buying a new one! He's on the interstate in a heartbeat to come and fix it for her!" "Big sister, Puddin, needs some electrical work done in Atlanta? He's headed her way!"
All that knowledge began at Franklin Sr. High, where many of his classmates remember him being that young man who walked around the halls with a briefcase!
He then served in the U.S. Army, where he was stationed in North Carolina. He proudly served his country and took advantage of the educational opportunities that the military provided.
As a veteran, he enrolled in many courses at San Jacinto College in Houston. He worked many years as an operator at Ashland Chemicals.
His memory will forever be cherished by his two sisters, Orelia Marie Arceneaux of Atlanta, Georgia, and Cynthia Arceneaux Fontenot (Herbert) of Lake Charles, Louisiana; and brothers, Ronald and Timothy Arceneaux, both of Atlanta, Georgia. He is also survived by two daughters, Christina Notto of Atlanta, Georgia, and Rosalind Arceneaux of Westwego, Louisiana; along with a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, cousins…and let us not forget his dear friends of "The Coffee Club."
If you were around John for any significant amount of time, you are certainly familiar with one of his favorite sayings… "It is what it is."
And that's his story. Take your rest.
We will always love you!
