John Phillip

Visitation will be held Monday, November 2, 2020 from 9:00 AM until the commencement of the funeral service with the Rev. Carl Lewis, officiating.

Internment will be held at St. John Baptist Church, Four Corners, LA.

John Phillip, a cherished member of our family born on November 7, 1935 passed away peacefully at Our Lady of the Lourdes Hospital, Lafayette, LA, following complications of open-heart surgery in the early morning hours of October 24, 2020. John was 84, and a resident of Jeanerette, LA.

John leaves to cherish his memory three daughters, Cassandra Renee Phillips, Felicia Oleen Phillips, and Tresjola Kay Phillips all of Houston, TX. Close to his heart are his siblings Jessie (Melvina) Gibson, Houston TX; Patricia (Northern) Gibson, Arthur Phillips, Georgia Taylor, and Angenetta Phillips of Jeanerette, LA; Gloria (Joe) Wilkins and Lawrence (Linda) Phillips, of Los Angeles, CA; Audrey Robertson of Washington, DC; and Belvin (Melvin) Givens of Baton Rouge, LA. He leaves over 100 beloved nieces, nephews, and a host of cousins and many treasured friends.

John is preceded in death by his parents Arthur "Ben" Phillips and Georgiana Robertson- Phillips; his sisters, Ora Lee Phillips and Marva Robertson; and his brothers, Northern Gibson, Segers Phillips and Henry Phillips.
