A Celebration of Life for John Tardy, will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023, at 11:00 A.M. at Triumph Baptist Church in Franklin, La.
Visitation will be Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 9:00 A.M. until the commencement of the celebration at Triumph Baptist Church in Franklin, La.
John Fitzgerald Tardy, affectionately known "Fisher" "Johnny T" was born on July 8, 1964, in Lafayette, La. He was the fourth child of Barbara Ann Lee Tardy and the late Ervin Tardy. He was raised in the Glencoe Community. At an early age, he accepted Christ and was baptized at St. Matthews Baptist Church by the late Rev. John Lewis. On Saturday, October 7, 2023, John entered into his eternal rest.
Scholastically, John received his formal education in the St. Mary Parish Public School System, graduating from Franklin Senior High School with the class of 1983. John had an infectious personality and loved everyone he had contact with. He will be remembered by his school friends as a member of the Mighty Hornets Band. After high school, he attended Southern University A&M in Baton Rouge, La. He went on to become a carpenter and was known throughout La and TX for his skilled carpentry work.
Johnny T, as he was affectionately known, was a devoted father, brother, son, friend, and uncle. He was kind, gentle, humorous, giving and was known to be the life of the party. He shared a special relationship with his family, especially, his nieces and nephews. His smile will be sorely missed, and he will never be forgotten by his family and friends.
John had many hobbies, his special love was playing dominoes, boiling seafood, and grilling. He loved spending time with family and friends. John was always willing to help anyone in need.
John leaves cherish his memories, his mother, Barbara Tardy of Glencoe, La; wife, Trena Tardy of Jennings, La; seven sisters, Lena Tardy of Glencoe, La, Glenda Jones of Bridgeport, CT, Mahalia Tardy of Franklin, La, Jacqueline Tardy of Broussard, La, Patricia Stewart of Youngsville, La, Schantea Tardy, Ericka Tardy of Houston, TX, and Veronica Adams of Los Angeles, CA; seven brothers, Anthony Troy Stacy, Jarrell Stacy, Brandon Stacy of Los Angeles, CA, Eric Tardy, Trent Tardy, Alton Tardy, and Patrick Tardy of Houston, TX; three daughters, Courtney Ina of Franklin, La, Kailyn Vital of New Orleans, La, and Melody Moore of Baton Rouge, La; four sons, Aaron Vitatoe, Javontae Vitatoe, Jonas Vitatoe, and Ahmad Vitatoe of New Orleans, La; seven grandchildren, inclusive of two special grandsons he raised as his own Courtlon Ina and Courric Ina-Thomas of Franklin, La; two Godchildren, Manuel Booker, Jr. and Aubrey Stubbs, a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ervin Tardy; maternal grandparents, Caldonia Lee and Irvin Lee; paternal grandparents, Lena and Alton Tardy; former wife, Lori Jackson.
