A Celebration of Life for Joseph Callery, will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026, 2:00 PM at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.

Visitation will begin at 12:00 PM, until the commencement of the celebration at MK Dixon Funeral Home in Baldwin, LA.

Joseph will be interred at Franklin Cemetery in Franklin, LA.

Joseph Fred Callery, Sr. AKA “Sweet Pea”, a lifelong resident of Franklin, La departed his earthly life on January 11, 2026. He is the son of the late Elsie Brown Howard Green, Lemy Callery, and Firmin Green. He was the oldest of five children.

He married the love of his life, Adeline Smith, and to this union 9 children were born. He was a faithful member of Ashbury United Methodist Church until his illness. Joseph was a sandblaster/painter by trade all his adult life.

Joseph leaves to cherish his memory, his children Tracy Callery of Franklin, La, Kevin (Paula) Callery of Baldwin, La, Diedra Callery of Houston, TX, Debbie Callery of Dallas, TX, Renee Callery Slack(Christopher Norman) of Houston, TX, Sherell Callery of Frisco, TX; four sisters, Ora Norsworthy, Julia Green both of Franklin, La, Bertha (Raymond) Francis of Austin, TX, and Alsie Gee of Houston, TX; one sister- in- law, Geraldine Rack; 23 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren; host of nieces, nephews, family, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife; two daughters, Darlene, and Regina Callery; one son, Joseph Calllery, Jr.; parents; godmother, Emily Kennedy; two brothers-in-law, Nathaniel Green, and Harry Norsworthy; one grandson, Christian Isaac Brown.
