Joseph "T Joe" Hunt, III

Joseph Hunt, III, was born in New Iberia, LA, on June 21,1983. He was born to Joseph Hunt, Jr. and Myrna Hunt. He was the third child of five.

Joseph was reared in Jeanerette, LA, where he attended St. Charles Elementary and graduated from Jeanerette Sr. High School in 2002. "T-Joe" as he was affectionately known as was the life of the party wherever he went. He loved everyone and was able to bring smiles to whomever he came across. No one had a bad day whenever he was around.

After high school, T-Joe moved to Los Angeles, CA, where he had a career of working in different capacities until his health failed. While there he met numerous friends.

Joseph “T-Joe” leaves to cherish his memories; his mother, Myrna H. Pierre (Ronald) of Charenton, LA and father, Joseph Hunt, Jr. (Ella) of Jeanerette, LA; three sisters, Jolene Hurst (Robert) of Maurice, LA, Jocelyn Jones (Terrance) of Jeanerette, LA, Jelicia Hawkins (Jerald) of Lafayette, LA; one brother, Kendal Hunt of Jeanerette, LA; aunts, Cheryl Boutte, Georgia Smith (Blair), Melinda Clavelle (David), Juanita Hunt, Susan Elaine Jones (Rev. Thomas), Balladette Miller (Gerald), Judy Fontenet, Stephanie Banks; uncles, Roland Alexander (Loretha), Lorybort Alexander, Sr. (Nicole), Alfred Alexander (Catherine), Marcell Key, Alfred Percy Key, Jr. (Janice), Brandon Hunt (Priscilla), Jeffery Banks; a special friend whom he gave his heart to for many years, Porsha Bullock; paternal grandmother, Le-ester Hunt of Centerville, LA; maternal grandfather, Roland Alexander, Sr. of Jeanerette, LA.

Joseph also leaves his six sons, JaVonte Hurst of Las Vegas, NV, Jo’Siah Hunt of New Orleans, LA, Darnell Benjamin of New Iberia, LA, Aiden Hunt, Marlon Hunt, and Kendal Bullock all of Los Angeles, CA; special family, Denise Teno, Derrick Wells of Jeanerette, LA, Dwayne “D. J. Blakk” Flugence of New Iberia, LA and several grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents; Sylviana Key and Percy Key, Sr.; paternal grandfather, Joseph Hunt, Sr.; Aunt, Gail Jackson; uncles, Alton Hunt, Ronald Jackson, nephew, Van Hunt; maternal great-grandparents, Mose and Minerva Alexander, Adam and Georgia Burney White Clay; paternal great-grandparents, Wilbert and Martha Hunt, Willie and Delia Flemings.

Joseph's life will be celebrated on Saturday, August 22, 2026, 1:00 PM, First Jerusalem Baptist Church, Jeanerette, LA. Rev. Arthur Lee Alexander will officiate the service.

Visitation will be Saturday August 22, 2026, from 11:00 AM until the commencement of the service at First Jerusalem Baptist Church. 

Interment will follow in First Jerusalem's Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Jeanerette, LA.
