Josie was born to the late Edward and Maude Metz on September 29, 1939 in Markinville, LA. She graduated from Willow Street High School in Franklin, LA., and attended college for a short time.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Freddie “Trigger” Lockley and a son, Leonard; a granddaughter DeAndria; five sisters Josephine, Annie Mae, Thelma, Jessie Mae, Sarah, and three brothers Edward Jr., Elijah and Earl.
She is survived by her brother James Metz (Katherine) of Little Rock AR; three children, Redgy Dean Lewis (Baldwin, LA), Lori “Gooey” Freeman (Charles) of Fort Worth, TX, and Craig “Nucy” Lewis (Sioux Falls, SD); granddaughter, Jessica Daniels (Matt) of Houma LA, Charles “C.J” Freeman, and Nicholas Cole Freeman both of Fort Worth, TX; Travis Craig Lewis, Creighton Dean Ross, Craig Deon Ross, and Cortez Lewis all of Sioux Falls, SD, and great-grandchildren Gabrielle, Tanner and Madison.
