Funeral Services for Josie A Stevenson will be held Saturday, December 17, 2016, 1:00 PM, MK Dixon Funeral Home, 211 Main Street, Baldwin, LA. Rev. A.L. Alexander will officiate the service.

She will be buried in Heavenly Rest Cemetery, Jeanerette, LA.

Visitation will be Saturday, December 17, 2016, from 11:00 AM until the commencement of the funeral service.

Josie A. Stevenson was born January 13, 1945 to the Late Herman and Martha Alexander. She was baptized at an early age at St. Peter United Methodist Church.

She was a graduate of F. M. Boley High School, graduating in 1963. Josie was employed at Jeanerette Mills for nine years. She was also employed at ReddFoxx and Morton Salt for numerous years.

Josie leaves to cherish her memory: three daughters, Crystal L. Richard, New Iberia, LA, Kenya S. Bryant (Jeffrey Bryant) Houston, TX and Venetria Navy, Jeanerette, LA; one sister, Evelyn J. Smith, Jeanerette, LA; one brother, Herman Alexander, Los Angeles, CA; ten grandchildren, Starsheka L. Lewis, Houston, TX, Curtrell Hines, Jeanerette, LA, Jabreon Bryant, JahvonBryant, Darryl Pierre, Dion Brothers, Houston, TX, Felix Richard, Juliesha R. Alexander (Terrell Alexander), Julix Richard and Jody Richard, Jeanerette, LA; one goddaughter, Melissa Borel; along with seven great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Josie was preceded in death by her mother and father, Herman and Martha Alexander; maternal grandparents, Richard and Lizzie B. Edwards; paternal grandparents, Nezer and Ella Alexander; one sister, Sherry Conners; three aunts and three uncles, Carrie Berry, Viola Edwards, Margaret Edwards, Oliver Edwards, Arthur Edwards and Eddie Edwards; and one close cousin, Lizzie Campbell.
